This photo series documents a subset of the Isla Vista community that often goes unnoticed. Amidst the college town's reputable parties, there are residents who collect the trash left behind. When they are recognized by the students, these individuals are often referred to as "beer fairies" which feels dismissive and othering. Through these portraits I aim to humanize this population to the younger crowd. More than a so-called "clean-up crew" they are individuals with lives that need sustaining.
